The daily life of restaurants has changed drastically in the last month. The restrictions caused by the coronavirus are reflected in the sales of many restaurants and Helsinki is eerily empty. The situation is uncertain in every way, and restaurants and other businesses are doing their best.
Green Hippo switched to take-away and Wolt sales only already about three weeks ago, in anticipation of the government decision. Wolt sales have grown week by week as customers also get used to a new routine. Take-away dishes are still sold at the restaurant, of course in accordance with the regulations set forth by authorities. We’ve been developing the Wolt menu week by week and have added breakfast items, new drinks and a variety of combos to the menu. We welcome feedback on how we could further develop our operations on Wolt because, unlike many restaurants, we have not operated there before.
We also opened a gift card store where customers can buy brunch gift cards or open gift cards. Gift cards work as a great way to support a restaurant, especially if you live outside of Wolt’s delivery area, but you know you’re coming to eat with us later this year. We are also happy to hear feedback on the gift card selection!
Despite the situation, we are hopeful and optimistic about the future. We are developing our summer terrace to create the best summer ever, as long as this pandemic is defeated and meeting people is safe again. That's something probably most everyone is waiting for 💚
